There are days that are slower and days that are much faster paced where prioritizing is a must. Patient care is the most important goal at ACL and making sure that specimens are prepared correctly and in a timely manner are the main objectives. It is imparitive that attention to detail be used at all times. It has the potential to be a really great place to work but they need to make some major changes that unfortunately will probably never happen.Ī typical day of work at ACL is fast paced and somewhat stressful. There are a lot of great people who still work at ACL but even more that have come and gone because of the way the place is being ran. Many of the other departments are understaffed as well on almost a constant basis.įor some reason the management and higher ups in the company have not realized that the most important part of running a large company is to take care of their employees first so that they can do their job to take care of the clients and the patients. In the few years that I have worked there, the processing dept has never been fully staffed due to a large number of reasons. As a result the moral in many of the departments is very low. There are quite a few "dead weight" employees that have worked there for years and therefore are able to do as they please without any kind of real consequences. Some of the management it great, but some of them not so much. The raises are not much to speak of either as new employees make about the same as employees that have worked there for 10+ years. They just raised their minimum wage for starting med techs for example and it's still 3 dollars less than the starting wage of a hospital about 30 min away.
Compaired to the national average and even some of the near by companies, ACL pays way less than anywhere else.
